DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will explain how a particular (T^2) irrelevant
deformation of the boundary CFT can be used to construct a holographic des
cription of asymptotically-AdS quantum gravity in which the dual theory li
ves on Cauchy slices of the Lorentzian bulk. This allows us to define an e
xplicit map between boundary CFT states and bulk Wheeler-DeWitt states\, i
.e. quantum metric superpositions satisfying the Hamiltonian constraint. F
urthermore\, dynamics with respect to asymptotic time is matched on both s
ides of the duality as an operator equality in the T^2-deformed field theo
ry. This description provides a manifestly background-independent definiti
on of quantum gravity\, without reference to any bulk classical geometry.
I will end by discussing/speculating on how this approach can be extended
to obtain a holographic description of cosmology.
