DESCRIPTION:Direct Current (DC) Microgrids are an appealing solution for i
ncreasing penetration of renewable energy sources with DC output-type\, e.
g.\, photovoltaics and fuel cells\, as well as energy storage systems. How
ever\, they suffer from low scalability as well as major uncertainties\, d
ue to increased volatility in the electricity supply and load changes. Thi
s uncertainty in the supply and demand of electricity highlights the impor
tance of cooperative and plug-and-play control design for DC microgrids. T
his talk focuses on the hierarchical control of DC microgrids subject to u
ncertainties. A particular emphasis is on the development of distributed s
econdary control approaches based on consensus protocols for DC microgrids
. The final part of the talk is devoted to cybersecurity and resilience ch
 allenges in microgrids’ control systems.
