DESCRIPTION:When can we distinguish quantum measurements perfectly after o
nly a finite number of queries? How to calculate the diamond norm distance
between von Neumann measurements? During the seminar\, I will present res
ults on the discrimination of measurements with rank-one effects. I will f
ocus on the discrimination of von Neumann measurements and SIC POVMs. I wi
ll elaborate on three approaches to the discrimination problem\, which are
: symmetric\, unambiguous\, and asymmetric discrimination. All of these ap
proaches will be considered in the single-shot and multiple-shot scenarios
. I will consider both the parallel and adaptive schemes of discrimination
assuming that we can use the discriminated channel a finite number of tim
es. I will provide formulas for the optimal probability of correct discrim
ination and indicate when the adaptive scheme is essential for perfect dis
 crimination.
