DESCRIPTION:From the Green Wave to End Sars to Ni Una Menos to MeToo: broa
d-based\, intersectional movements are one of the most effective mechanism
s to create and sustain long-term social transformation. And amidst unprec
edented challenges—from the ongoing pandemic to the rollback of reproduc
tive rights to the rise of authoritarian\, anti-gender forces to environme
ntal degradation—such movements need all the help they can get. \n\nYet
philanthropy remains charity-oriented\, optimization obsessed\, and homoge
nous: all barriers to engaging with grassroots movements that hold the key
to changing the status quo\, but don't resemble traditional "beneficiarie
s". Funders have struggled to engage movements on their own terms\, at tim
es doing more harm than good. \n\nHow can money and resources reach moveme
nts to embolden activists and fuel their impact? What must 'doing good' lo
ok like especially for those invested in gender\, racial\, and class justi
ce? Lori Adelman is herself a feminist activist and Vice President at Glob
al Fund for Women overseeing strategic advocacy and communications. \n\nJo
in her to explore these questions and more.\n\nRegistration required (onli
