DESCRIPTION:Quantum technologies are nearing the phase of commercialisatio
 n where technology adoption and business model design are becoming a major
  topic among practitioners and policymakers. This talk explores the potent
 ial impact of quantum computing in transforming the way firms create and c
 apture value in order to increase productivity and economic growth. We hig
 hlight some of the opportunities and challenges for the UK to foster the d
 evelopment  and commercialisation of quantum computers to be beneficial to
  society.\n\nChander Velu is Professor of Innovation and Economics in the 
 Cambridge University Engineering Department where he heads the Business Mo
 del Innovation Research Group. He is a Fellow at Selwyn College\, Cambridg
 e. Chander has an interest in innovation and technology management with a 
 specific focus on exploring the antecedents and consequences of business m
 odel innovation. Prior to joining the Institute for Manufacturing\, he was
  a member of the faculty at Cambridge Judge Business School. Chander has w
 orked as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Booz Allen & Hamilto
 n in London.\n
