DESCRIPTION:Granular flows occur in a wide range of different areas\, incl
 uding engineering\, geophysics and industry. We shall present a series of 
 results on the collapse of granular material from a range of initial state
 s\, using both dimensional analysis and numerical evaluations.\nThe presen
 tation will also include some simple desk-top experiments to illustrate th
 e ideas.
