DESCRIPTION:The immune system faces an information transfer problem in app
 ropriately directing T-cell responses in the lymph node\; a site distal to
  immune challenges. Contextual information relevant to antigens must be en
 coded and transmitted to T-cells to allow diverse responses to occur withi
 n the same lymph node ensuring both robust immune response generation alon
 gside maintenance of tolerance. The complexity of this problem becomes par
 ticularly apparent when the diversity of the cell types involved in direct
 ing T-cell responses are considered with many residing within the lymph no
 de and never directly encountering antigens within their tissue context. U
 sing models of both infection and cancer development we have investigated 
 how tissues communicate with the lymph node to solve this conundrum.\n\nCl
