DESCRIPTION:Let R be a commutative noetherian ring and M is a commutative 
 partially cancellative monoid.We are interested in understanding the K-the
 ory of the monoid algebra R[M] in terms of &nbsp\;the K-theory of R.If &nb
 sp\;M=Z^_+ (or Z^n)\, then classically there are many results (e.g. homoto
 py invariance\, K_0-stability)which holds for R[M]. In this talk\, we will
  see how far those results could be extended for R[M]\, where M is any mon
 oid.
