DESCRIPTION:While long-term ecological (palaeoecology) baseline data have
been identified as critical to biodiversity management\, there is still a
major disconnect between palaeoecology and on-ground management efforts. T
his is largely due to the lack of application context in most existing pal
aeoecological studies\, with data generated difficult for land managers to
interpret and use in developing management framework. In this seminar\, I
will be talking about my palaeoecological work and some new methods\, and
how it has assisted in informing land management in southeast Australia\,
which is one of the regions experiencing the greatest impact (damaging wi
ldfires\, flood\, drought) of climate globally.
