DESCRIPTION:Two-parameter instanton-type solutions are formal solutions of
  Painlev\\'e equations with a large parameter. They play a crucially impor
 tant role in describing the Stokes phenomena for Painlev\\'e equations and
  formal equivalence between general Painlev\\'e equations and the first Pa
 inlev\\'e equation at a simple turning point. In this talk I would like to
  review the construction and relevant properties of instanton-type solutio
 ns and discuss their analytic interpretation.
