 or Andrew Balmford's research has been on the identification of priority a
 reas for conservation action\; establishing how much effective biodiversit
 y conservation would cost\; and how conservation efforts might best be rec
 onciled with other forms of land use\, especially in developing countries.
  He is keen on building close working relationships between conservation s
 cientists and conservation practitioners. He was active in the campaign to
  save Roswell Pits.
