DESCRIPTION: I will review the state of the art of the theoretical descrip
 tion of jet observables in QCD\, in the region in which large logarithms d
 evelop in their distributions\, which require their all-order resummation.
  In particular\, I will discuss global observables\, for which this resumm
 ation can be achieved at the next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy 
 within the ARES formalism. The same accuracy is now in sight for non-globa
 l observables\, the most common at hadron colliders\, in view of the recen
 t resummation of next-to-leading non-global logarithms. Last\, I will disc
 uss how the ARES formalism can be further exploited to compute leading had
 ronization corrections.
