DESCRIPTION:Dr Marta Magalhães is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre of 
 Latin American Studies. She \nreceived her PhD in social anthropology from
  the University of Cambridge with a thesis \non cosmopolitanism\, violence
  and sovereignty in the city of Salvador\, Brazil. Her \nresearch interest
 s include political and legal anthropology\, ethnographies of the state\, 
 social theory and political philosophy\, violence\, memory\, psychoanalyti
