DESCRIPTION:Dr Ibe will present the vast opportunities\, challenges and pr
 ospects in Africa's agriculture\, and highlight the urgent need to build a
 dequate scientific research capacity on the continent to tackle food and n
 utrition security challenges effectively.\n\nShe will also discuss the imp
 ortance of the global scientific community’s support for the democratiza
 tion of modern plant bio-technologies to enable African scientists to have
  access to the right tools\, technologies and resources to enhance agricul
 tural-research. This is essential if there is to be a sustainable increase
  in food production on the continent in a timely and environmentally frien
 dly manner.
