DESCRIPTION:Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder characterised 
 by altered perceptions of reality and thought disorder.  Lots of hypothese
 s exist as to what is really causing it\, but no one is actually certain. 
  Here we take a brief tour of schizophrenia's chequered past\, it's status
  today\, and a potentially brighter future.  We'll also ask - why on earth
  look at the pituitary gland??
