DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately Herman is not able to be with us on 9th November
. We are hoping to reschedule and will post more details as soon as we hav
e them.\n\nEverything you have heard about the metaverse so far is wrong.
Herman Narula\, CEO of Improbable and author of Virtual Society\, argues t
hat the metaverse goes back thousands of years and that our digital future
will not be determined by a few large platforms and VR headsets. Narula w
ill explain why the metaverse will matter to individuals and society\, and
what crucial technologies are needed to build it. \n\nBio: Herman Narula
is the co-founder and CEO of Improbable\, a British metaverse technology c
ompany. Improbable partners with video game developers\, entertainment com
panies\, and defence and academic institutions to enable powerful\, virtua
l worlds of unprecedented size and usefulness. This year\, Improbable esta
blished M2 (MSquared)\, a network of interoperable metaverses powered by i
ts Morpheus technology. M2 allows companies\, brands and creators to estab
lish their own metaverses and Web3 businesses within its network\, organis
e large-scale experiences with their communities involving thousands of ac
tive participants\, and provide interoperability with existing blockchains
and Web3 businesses. \n \nNarula is the author of Virtual Society: The Me
taverse and the New Frontiers of Human Experience\, published by Penguin R
andom House on October 11 2022. The book offers an exploration of the meta
verse\, its ancient origins\, and how the exchange of value and ideas with
in and between virtual worlds will expand the possibilities of human life.
Narula draws on deep\, cross-disciplinary research in history\, sociology
and psychology to show readers what the metaverse actually is\, why it wi
ll matter and why it’s here to stay.\n\nIf you would like to attend this
