DESCRIPTION:Beautiful Dachau was on a city tourism poster that became the 
 name for a video installation I did in 2006 that was the forerunner for th
 e film I re-edited which became In Place of Death.  One of the paradoxes o
 f the medieval town of Dachau is that it is quite beautiful and was an art
 ists’ colony before the war.  Indeed\, there was a Dachau school of land
 scape painting.  This image then and now stands in sharp contrast with the
  concentration camp and its impact on place naming\, urban inclusion and r
 emapping of the city\, including and importantly in relation to its physic
 al connectedness with Munich.\n\n
