DESCRIPTION:Friendships have traditionally received much less attention fr
 om researchers than have romantic relationships. In recent years\, however
 \, friendships have gained increased importance both in our modern relatio
 nships and in academic circles. In this talk\, we will review what we know
  so far about forgiveness in friendships\, including findings from recent 
 research touching on individual differences and relationship-level factors
  in the forgiving process. The talk will end with future directions and qu
 estions from the audience.\n\nThis lecture is the first of four this term 
 organised by the new CRASSH Research Network Illuminating Friendship. Open
  to all.
