SUMMARY:Superradiance in stars - Fran Chadha-Day (IPPP Durham)
DTSTART:20221019T130000Z

DESCRIPTION:Superradiance in black holes is reasonably well-understood but
superradiance in stars has received comparatively little attention. This
is surprising given the ease with which we can observe isolated neutron st
ars and the array of signatures which would result from stellar superradia
nce. I will discuss the opportunities and challenges of stellar superradia
nce and present the first systematic pipeline for computing superradiance
 rates in rotating stars.
LOCATION:Both in-person (at MR2\, DAMTP) and online (details to be sent by
  email)
