SUMMARY:Building planets: what sets their composition? - Ewine F. van Dish
 oeck (Leiden Observatory\, the Netherlands)

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to ALMA and JWST\, the study of molecules from clouds t
o disks is undergoing a revolution: the chemistry of water and more comple
x molecules can now be traced through the various evolutionary stages on s
olar system scales. At the same time\, fascinating spatial and\nkinematic
structures in dust and gas point to planet formation in\naction. This talk
will present an overview of some recent results by\nour group on observat
ions and models of molecules in disks\, with\nimplications for the materia
l (e.g.\, C/O) out of which planets are\nbuilt. Dust traps play a key role
in the re-distribution of material\nfrom the outer to the inner planet-bu
ilding zones of disks. Some first\nresults from JWST will be presented.
