DESCRIPTION:The LCDM cosmology provides a remarkably good fit to a wide ra
nge of observations\, notably the temperature and polarization of the cosm
ic microwave background. There are\, however\, hints of possible tensions
with the LCDM model. The `Hubble tension’ and `S8 tension’ are the bes
t known examples. The former is reliant on the accuracy of the Cepheid dis
tance scale measured by the SH0ES team and the latter is reliant on the ac
curacy of the measurement and modelling of cosmic shear. I will review the
status of both of these tensions in the light of recent work.
