DESCRIPTION:Many products developed at TTP use applications of fluid mecha
 nics. In this talk we will present several case studies including Taylor v
 ortices and bubble-driven sorting vortices in cell and gene therapy\, asym
 metric mixing in beer kegs\, and turbine design in leaf blowers. The desig
 n of these devices requires a variety of physical mechanisms to be underst
 ood\, and we will also highlight the challenges of converting the concept 
 into a product.
