DESCRIPTION:This hybrid seminar will be held in MRC Epidemiology Unit meet
ing rooms 1 and 2\, Institute of Metabolic Science\, Cambridge Biomedical
Campus\, and online.\n\nFree registration to join this seminar online at:\
 n\nhttps://mrc-epid.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJUvdeCqrzwoH92KbfSBIeRZrydGw
WEtAcNS\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email conta
ining information about joining the meeting.\n\nAlthough the importance of
physical activity for health is well established\, much assumed knowledge
in this field is based on methods that classify people as ‘active’ or
‘inactive’ at one time point and do not account for changes in physic
al activity and sedentary behaviour across the lifespan. The wide variatio
n in patterns of physical activity and sedentary behaviour in everyday lif
e raises questions about the weakness of the traditional ‘one-size fits
all’ approach used to explore relationships between physical activity an
 d health
