DESCRIPTION:Separability is an algebraic property enjoyed by nice subsets 
 of groups\, while quasiconvexity is a geometric property enjoyed by nice s
 ubsets of metric spaces. We will recall the notions of hyperbolic and rela
 tively hyperbolic groups and say a few words about how these two different
  properties are related for their subgroups before going on to explain how
  separability can be used to obtain some nice "combination theorems" in th
 is setting.
