  four spacetime dimensions whose continuous global symmetries can give ris
 e to 2-group global symmetries\, non-invertible symmetry defects as well a
 s a more complicated symmetry structure involving a mixture of both concep
 ts. As we will see\, 't Hooft anomalies for background global symmetries w
 ill play a crucial role in this context.
