DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite you to our first Technology Enterprise
  Group (TEG) Seminar this term. Next Tuesday\, 19th May 2009\, 13:00 – 1
 4:00 Valerie Bannert-Thurner will give a talk on "Entrepreneurship – Les
 sons learned from theory and practice". In her talk\, Valerie will share i
 nsights from both her research on Technology and Innovation Management and
  her professional experience in start-ups and large corporations. \n\nVale
 rie is Managing Director of the start-up Skyler Technology Europe Ltd. Pri
 or to opening the European office\, Valerie was working in Skyler's headqu
 arters in Concord\, California\, where she was head of corporate and produ
 ct marketing as well as strategic business development. Before joining Sky
 ler\, Valerie has gained her professional experience in strategic manageme
 nt in various industries. She was a member of the BMW Technology Office in
  Palo Alto managing a pre-development prototyping project and also led sev
 eral strategic development and reorganization projects in companies such a
 s TNT Logistics and Schindler AG. During her career\, she worked in differ
 ent countries all over the US\, Europe and Asia. Valerie has also a distin
 guished academic background. She holds a Ph.D. in Technology and Innovatio
 n Management and a Master of Science in Industrial Management and Business
  Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. She ha
 s taught entrepreneurship at the University of California Santa Barbara\, 
 and authored the book Mastering the Acquirer's Innovation Dilemma\, which 
 was published by Palgrave Macmillan in fall 2005.\n\nThe seminar will take
  place in the Lecture Room at the Institute for Manufacturing (Mill Lane\,
  Cambridge\, CB2 1RX). To be able to provide adequate space and seats it w
