DESCRIPTION:Multi-proxy approaches utilising various scientific methods ar
e increasingly applied in archaeological investigations to tackle issues o
f equifinality. However\, the results achieved by such methods can be ambi
guous or vague\, and their combined use is often complicated by the incomp
atibility of different datasets. This talk will discuss the value of a mod
el integrating decision tree algorithms and Bayesian confirmation to archa
eological research through a case study in which paleoenvironmental indica
tors of activities\, geochemistry and phytolith analysis\, were used to ai
d the interpretation of the use of space at the Neolithic sites of Wadi el
