DESCRIPTION:Robot Scientists aim to automate scientific investigations. Th
 ey use background knowledge to generate hypotheses\, then devise experimen
 ts that will test these hypotheses\, conduct the experiments using laborat
 ory robotics\, analyse the results\, and then choose the next round of hyp
 otheses. This talk will describe the two Robot Scientists at Aberystwyth\,
  our work towards the formalisation and automation of science\, and my per
 spective as a computer scientist who is attempting to formalise and automa
 te science in a biological laboratory. \n
