 f Charles Darwin’s life separates the man from the legend\, bringing to 
 light the textures of his work and dreams\, the noise and touch of his fam
 ily and his inner doubts and questions. These poems are the culmination of
  a 5-year journey that took Ballou from the Blue Mountains of Australia to
  Down House in Kent\, and to Cambridge and the Darwin archives. \n\nEmily 
 Ballou is a prize-winning Australian poet\, novelist and screenwriter. She
  will be appearing this summer at the Edinburgh Book Festival\, with the w
 inner of the T. S. Eliot Poetry Prize Jen Hadfield.\n\n
