DESCRIPTION:Multipath transport is considered to provide high throughput a
nd reliability. However\, the diversity of delay (including: forward delay
\, backward delay\, jitter and RTT) on multipath might influence its perfo
rmance. We want to quantify these differences and illustrate some prelimin
ary results. The scheme is sending probe packets to some destinations from
two access interfaces provided by two different ISPs. Four types of desti
nations are selected for testing. The motivation is to provide some helpfu
l information for creating more realistic scenarios in multipath simulatio
 n. Our work is also useful in designing protocols for delay-sensitive appl
 ications.
