DESCRIPTION:Prof. Sarah-Jayne Blackmore is a Professor at the University o
 f Cambridge and leader of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience group. 
 Her experties lies in the development of social cognition and decision mak
 ing in the adolescent brain\, as well as mental health issues affecting ad
 olescents. \n\nThrough this work she has been awarded many national and in
 ternational prizes including the Young Mind & Brain Prize and the Royal So
 ciety Rosalind Franklin Award in 2013. In addition Prof. Blackmore is a Fe
 llow of the British Academy (2018)\, the American Association of Psycholog
 ical Science (2020)\, the Academy of Medical Sciences (2022)\, and a Honor
 ary Fellow of St John's College\, Oxford.\n\nProf. Blackmore has also publ
 ished two books: ‘The Learning brain: Lesson for Education’\,which she
  co-wrote with Uta Firth\; and  a best seller\, ‘Inventing Ourselves’\
 , which explains the changes that the brain goes through during the adoles
 cent years. \n\nJoin us for her talk on the development of the social brai
 n in adolescence and the effects of social isolation on adolescent cogniti
 on and mental health.
