DESCRIPTION:Henry Bradshaw (1831-1886)\, former Librarian of Cambridge Uni
 versity Library\, is mainly remembered for his contributions to bibliograp
 hical scholarship. He was also\, however\, a prolific book collector with 
 a life-long interest in Irish print\, history and literature. This talk ex
 amines the Bradshaw collection and its development throughout the nineteen
 th century\, exploring its importance in both a national and institutional
  context. It will trace the journey of many rare Irish books to Cambridge 
 during this era – and illuminate the connections and crossovers in print
  culture between Ireland and England through Bradshaw’s library-building
 .\n
