DESCRIPTION:Through my research\, I am analysing the impacts of climate ch
ange on different social groups. My undergraduate dissertation uses an OLS
model to investigate correlations between natural disasters and within-co
untry income inequality. I found that a 10% increase in the number of peop
le affected by climate disasters corresponds with a 0.07% increase in the
Gini coefficient. Moreover\, the results reveal different patterns of clim
ate and economic variables’ effects on income inequality in four differe
nt income group categories. The results confirm the simultaneity of the is
sue discussed in previous literature\, therefore\, I argue for income ineq
uality minimising economic development policies as the means to mitigate c
 limate change effects.
