DESCRIPTION:The most tangible success of the field of quantum information 
 in theoretical physics is probably the introduction of a new mathematical 
 framework for describing quantum correlations in terms of qubits and entan
 glement. In this talk I will give an overview of highlights of this resear
 ch program\, touching upon area laws for the entanglement entropy\, quantu
 m tensor networks\, connections between topological field theory and quant
 um error correction\, and the description of quantum matter exhibiting top
 ological order. \n \nThere will be complementary tea and coffee served in
