DESCRIPTION:The second lecture of the Melville Lectures 2023 will showcase
that it is possible to transition from the inexact approaches of replicat
ive good-luck-based engineering of biomimetic nanocomposites to their exac
t structural design using graph theory (GT). This talk will elaborate on t
he GT of a variety of nanoscructures\, their macroscale properties and the
ir optimization using topometric descriptors and the practical significant
of these discoveries for the design of biomimetic structural Zn batteries
and high-capacity Li batteries. The same methodology can be applied to ot
 her nanofiber-\, nanoplatelets-\, and nanoparticle-based materials.
