DESCRIPTION:On the bacterial cell surface we can find structures\, which e
nable the bacterium to interact with its environment\, such as cells in th
e human bodies\, e.g. in our noses or guts. To prevent infections by patho
genic bacteria\, we aim to understand how these structures bind to the bac
terium’s environment. The aim of my PhD project is to investigate these
structures to be able to identify them\, and for instance provide candidat
 es for vaccine targets.
