SUMMARY:Tissue-specific tuning of the protein production machinery - Katy

DESCRIPTION:Proteins are the workhorses of the cell\, with almost all jobs
in our bodies being performed by proteins. Protein production is carried
out by a large molecular machine called the ribosome. During my PhD\, I've
been using the fruit fly ovary as a model system to explore how ribosomes
can vary between tissues\, how this influences protein production\, and t
he downstream effects on cell fate and tissue development.
