DESCRIPTION:Though tiny\, photosynthetic cells have played an enormous rol
e in the history of the Earth and its climate. Examples include producing
atmospheric oxygen\, carbon sequestration\, and increasing biological comp
lexity by symbiotic cohabitation with other species. By exploring simple c
ell models\, constructed from the bottom-up\, we can further understand ho
w these cells evolved in a changing world and how we can use them to addre
 ss modern climate concerns.
