DESCRIPTION:I will discuss the ASTRID project\, which has run a very large
cosmological simulation to z=1.3\, and now ~50 moderately smaller simulat
ions to z=2. Particle loads range from 5500^3 to 1536^3 through 3072^3. AS
TRID contains a model for black hole dynamic friction which allows us to s
tudy AGN multiplets in more realism than before\, as well as models for hy
drogen and helium reionization. I will discuss machine learning techniques
for upscaling simulations and thus increasing the size of the models we a
re able to create by another order of magnitude. I will talk about some re
cent results enabled by ASTRID in the Lyman alpha forest\, detecting dim p
rotoclusters using their gas absorption. The newest simulations are a suit
e for cosmology\, which have been used to create an emulator for the Lyman
alpha forest flux power spectrum. Together they are able to make predicti
ons\, accurate at the percent level\, for a wide range of cosmological par
 ameters.
