DESCRIPTION:We will be providing an overview of the role of the ONS and so
 me of the recent high-profile data science projects ONS have been involved
  in. We will then be talking in more detail about the projects currently u
 nderway in which relate to new methodologies for data linkage with a focus
  on population estimation and demography.\n \nSpeaker Bios:\nMary Cleaton 
 and Salah Merad are from the Methodology and Quality Department (MQD) whic
 h is responsible for the statistical methods that underpin statistical pro
 duction and analysis\, turning statistical theory into practice and ensuri
 ng high quality and continuous improvement. We enable better statistics an
 d research by ensuring Government analysts both inside and outside ONS hav
 e the methods required to do their important work and are supported to inn
 ovate and upgrade outputs.
