DESCRIPTION:Multicellular plant development requires precise coordination
of cellular behaviours\, which may be achieved through cell-cell signallin
g and/or mechanics. Distinguishing between these mechanisms has been diff
icult. We have been using a combination of imaging\, genetic\, morphologic
al and computational approaches to test hypotheses for coordination betwee
n tissue layers and show that mechanics plays a fundamental role.
