DESCRIPTION:Join Professor Larysa Zasiekina for this fascinating in-person
event as part of our 2022-23 Community Series.\n\nMoral injury (MI) is a
relatively new construct which is strongly associated with PTSD. However\,
understanding of how MI contributes to PTSD\, depression and anxiety symp
toms is lacking. Of particular concern is MI in civilians compared to mili
tary service members. This study was initiated as part of the project “M
oral Injury and Healing of Combatants: Neurocognitive Correlates and Psych
ological Interventions” funded by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education an
d Science. Psychosocial support and health services are being provided to
military and civilian populations by the Ukrainian Psychotrauma Center (UP
 C) in Lutsk\, Ukraine. This has offered clinicians and researchers the opp
ortunity to gain an in-depth understanding of MI during military conflict
in Ukraine and develop approaches to help mitigate PTSD and MI consequence
 s. Therefore\, this study aims to extend the understanding of MI as often
co-occurring but still different from PTSD construct in military and civil
ian populations during war time.\n\nThis pre-Formal Hall talk will take pl
 ace on the 2nd of February\, 6-7 pm\, in the Wood-Legh Room\, Strathaird.
It is free and open to all.\n\nAbout the speaker:\nLarysa Zasiekina is Pro
fessor of Clinical Psychology at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University
