DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will introduce a numerical method for solving
2-D exterior Helmholtz problems with multiple or periodic scatterers. The
method is based on the multipole expansion (cylindrical wave expansion) w
ith T-matrix\, which characterizes the scattering from a single obstacle.
A boundary integral formulation is used to compute the T-matrix of non-cir
cular scatterers. After that\, I will talk about the design optimization (
inverse design) of multiple scattering systems. Some numerical examples wi
ll be provided to demonstrate that the proposed inverse-design method can
 tailor multiple wave scattering.
