DESCRIPTION:Most autistic people are adults\, and the UK - like many count
ries - has an ageing population. Yet autism is under-researched in older a
dults\, and we know very little about how autistic people age. This talk w
ill cover why ageing on the autism spectrum is an important topic\, challe
nges in this field\, what the current publication data in this area look l
ike\, and recent and current research from the Re:Spect Lab. Categorical (
with clinically diagnosed autistic adults) and dimensional (examining asso
ciations with levels of autistic traits) approaches will be included\, rep
orting on studies led by Dr Esra Zivrali-Yara\, Dr Gavin Stewart\, and cur
rent PhD student David Mason. Strengths and limitations\, as well as futur
 e directions\, will be discussed.\n\n\nRecently published: \nFletcher-Wats
