DESCRIPTION:This talk aims to help facilitate and build on discussions ini
tiated between SAR engineers and mathematicians in the RNT programme - to
build a common understanding in some areas.&nbsp\; We will present the SAR
data model which is used as the basis for image formation methods\, highl
ight some of the assumptions and approximations this builds in (some of wh
ich may need to be addressed in the context of Rich and Nonlinear Tomograp
hy)\, and briefly introduce reconstruction approaches to image formation.&
nbsp\; The main topic of the talk is the challenges and artefacts encounte
red due to moving targets. We show how a 4D tomographic reconstruction met
hod can be adapted for focusing along-track target motion\, producing a fi
 ne-resolution SAR video.
