DESCRIPTION:Prebiotic chemistry is to understand the chemical reactions fr
om small molecules (e.g. hydrogen cyanide\, carbon dioxide\, etc.) to bio-
 related molecules (e.g. oligonucleotides\, peptides\, lipids\, carboxylate
s\, etc.). Cyanosulfidic chemistry and carboxysulfitic chemistry are two s
cenarios for the synthesis of small building blocks (e.g. amino acids\, (d
 eoxy)nucleosides\, carboxylates\, etc.). Crystallization is a geologically
plausible way to purify some intermediates produced by these chemistries.
Here I will discuss these two scenarios and have some examples of the pur
ification of the prebiotic compounds by the crystallization process.
