DESCRIPTION:Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is an emerging medical i
maging technique in which electric fields are used to form real-time image
s of organ function and structure. To form these images\, it is necessary
to solve a severely ill-posed nonlinear inverse problem with computational
efficiency. The D-bar method is a direct (non-iterative) method with a pr
oven nonlinear regularization strategy and real-time implementation\, maki
ng it particularly suitable for bedside imaging. This talk will present re
cent developments to improve speed and resolution and highlight its use wi
th clinical data from the ACT 5 system.
