DESCRIPTION:Lagrangians are half-dimensional submanifolds of symplectic sp
aces on which the symplectic form vanishes. They are of considerable impor
tance in symplectic geometry and the study of their equivalence classes dr
ives much progress in the subject. In this talk\, we will consider various
notions of equivalence\, which have distinct granularity in general. I wi
ll present several examples\, mostly in dimension 4\, including some sympl
ectic phenomena\, and cases where full classifications are achievable. Tim
e permitting\, I will also introduce symplectic Lefschetz fibrations\, the
ir links to Lagrangians and also to my own work.
