SUMMARY:Stellar winds and their interactions with exoplanets - Aline Vidot

DESCRIPTION:As the wind outflows from a star\, it permeates the interplane
tary medium\, interacting with any planet it encounters. In this talk I wi
ll present some of our recent works on how winds of low-mass stars can aff
ect surrounding exoplanets. In particular\, I will talk about how winds ca
n affect atmospheric evaporation and spectroscopic transit signatures. I w
ill also present the other side of the story: how (and when) can exoplanet
s affect the host star\, in particular\, focusing on radio emission that e
xoplanets can induce in the coronae of stars. Altogether\, these interacti
ons can help us characterise the system\, putting physical constraints on
planetary properties (such as their still elusive magnetic fields) as well
as properties of the winds of planet hosting stars.
