DESCRIPTION:This talk deals with the numerical simulation of Bose-Einstein
condensates modelled by nonlinear Schr&ouml\;dinger equations (Gross-Pita
evskii equations). We will discuss phenomena such as localisation of the w
ave function under disorder potentials\, the formation of vortex lattices
in fast rotating potential traps and dynamical phase transitions. Surprisi
ngly\, localisation theories from numerical homogenisation will play a cen
tral role both for the theoretical understanding of wave phenomena and for
the development of efficient and reliable numerical simulation methods.
